The great thing about Border's free book program would be that the free book selection is preferable to what was available in the past when my children first joined these summer reading programs. The free books are actually books kids might enjoy reading and can include Miss Daisy is Crazy! by Dan Gutman, Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary and Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, and the like.
Barnes and Noble Free Book
Barnes and Noble now offers a free book program for kids come early july. Children who provide you with the titles of 8 books they've read may select from a selection of 28 books directed at audiences from preschool through grade 6. Among the free books on Barnes and Nobles' list are The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden, Mrs. Frisby along with the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien, and My Last Best Friend by Julie Bowe.

For kids getting out of school with good grades come july 1st, Blockbuster offers a free movie rental. To qualify, kids must bring an investigation card demonstrating a B or satisfactory average to a participating Blockbusters location within 1 month of receiving the report card.

Elementary and middle school age kids who achieved 3 A grades on his or her final report card for the school year can get a personal pan pizza and small drink at a participating Pizza Hut location.
